Bits and channel points

Where bits are available, viewers can use them in Stream Bounty for two things:

  • Extra cards. Each extra card is another chance to win, and can be claimed on its own.
  • Extra votes in a voting round, beyond the free one.

Affiliate and Partner channels. Twitch now lets most channels take bits in chat without being an Affiliate, but bits in extensions still need Affiliate or Partner status. Until then viewers can’t get extra cards or votes with bits, and everything else in Stream Bounty works without it.

Bits are set up in Twitch, not in Stream Bounty’s own configuration. In your Creator Dashboard, go to Extensions, find Stream Bounty and manage its bits settings there. You choose how many bits an extra card takes and how many an extra vote takes.

If you’d rather viewers couldn’t get extra cards, you can turn that off.

Twitch splits bits used in an extension between you and the extension’s developers: you receive 80% and we receive 20%. Twitch sets this split and it can’t be changed. We put our share into making Stream Bounty better.

To see how many bits have been used on your channel through Stream Bounty, look in the Bits settings in the configuration.

Stream Bounty can add three custom rewards to your channel. Turn on the ones you want in Channel Rewards:

Reward What it does
Start a vote Starts a voting round
Call a random event Calls a random event that hasn’t been called
Call all uncalled events Calls everything that is left. One to ask a lot of channel points for

To use these:

  • Link your Twitch account, so Stream Bounty can create the rewards.
  • Channel Points must be turned on for your channel. If they aren’t, finish monetization setup in your Creator Dashboard under Monetization, then Setup. You don’t need to be an Affiliate for this.
